Fettercairn 24 yo (1984/2009), Rare Vintage, 44,4 %

Review #424
Only 6000 bottles were made. Loads of mint in the smell at first. Like a liquid After Eight! After a couple of minutes in the glass, most of the minty notes is gone and some roasted almonds, vanilla, oranges and toasted oak comes forward.

This has all the good “old” notes in the taste. Leather, tobacco and wonderful oak influence. Very fruity as well. A mix of sweet pears, dates and raisins. The finish is long and full of flavour. It keeps the flavours from the taste, but adds some honey sweetness to it all, making it very smooth.

This is just good from the moment it hits the glass to the moment the last drop is savoured! It was very strange with the mint in the smell, that 5 minutes later were gone, but it doesn’t change the fact that I really enjoyed this one! I will rate this 88/100 (22/22/22/22).
