From
Creative Whisky Company comes this unpeated Bunnahabhain from cask 5417. Only
222 bottles were made. Very malty at first in the smell. Then marzipan and red
fruits. Sweet cherries and raisins. Some nuts as well – almonds and walnuts.
This whisky
act its age! The oak influence in the taste is so gentle, yet so prominent.
Sweet dried fruits gives you both some fruity sweetness and hints of apricots
and raisins, but not in a dominant way. The finish is medium long but dies a
bit fast unfortunately. It is great as long as it lasts though.
This is a very delicate dram. The age has
certainly done its job, and CWC chose a very good cask! Not very classic
Bunnahabhain though. If the finish with have been a little longer with a little
more flavor, this would have been truly great! I will rate this 89/100 (22/23/21/23).
