Dailuaine 23 yo (1993/2017), Gleann Mór, 52,1%

Review #447
This is from the series “A Rare Find” and comes from a Bourbon cask. Only 179 were made. Sweet marzipan and a slight alcohol burn on the nose. Almonds, vanilla ice-cream and fresh sawdust with some spices in the background.

The vanilla is the dominant part in the taste. The oak mixes in beautifully, yet in a simple way. Some of the oak influence comes more forward in the finish. Like tobacco and just plain wood. Some spices, like cinnamon, is present all along.

A good, but simple dram. I don’t quite know why, but my mind keeps going back to vanilla ice cream… The cask is really making this whisky, and you really feel like you know this cask. I will give this 85/100 (21/22/22/20).
