Taketsuru 21 yo, 43%

Review #486
This is a multi award winning blended malt. Fruity … Just fruity at first in the smell… Red berries and sweet raisins. It is very rich in flavours and in the background, I find hints of leather and old dusted books.

Full of flavours in the taste, without the alcohol takes over, and fruits like cherries, raisins and ripe plums comes forward. The sweetness joins in the finish without being sugary, Overall coffee and dark bitter chocolate is present.

A great Japanese whisky, but the price was a bit more realistic when it came out. It is rich and full of flavours with those great dark notes you rarely find in Japanese whiskies. I will give this 87/100 (21/22/22/22).
